Do you want to experience a real winter? Then this winter bushcraft course is highly recommended.
Finland belongs to the boreal zone, where each year is divided into four seasons. Winter starts in November and ends at the end of March or April. The winters in Eastern Finland are cold and there is snow, lots of snow. The temperature is often below zero throughout the winter. On the coldest days, the temperature can drop to as low as -30 degrees Celsius.
During this winter bushcraft course you will learn everything about how to move yourself through the snowy forests and how to survive dangerous winter situations. You will learn how to build temporary shelters that are suitable for the winter conditions, but also about your energy consumption in these conditions and about your winter equipment. We will go ice-fishing, prepare our food over a campfire, walk on snowshoes, walk on cross country skis through the snowy forests and make a Husky sleigh ride.
Our instructors are professionals who specialise in survival training in the Arctic. This winter bushcraft course is given under safe conditions at one of our training locations in North-Karelia. As temperatures here can drop to - 30 degrees Celsius, there will be heated tents at the training location, which you can use throughout the course and even sleep in, if desired.
This winter bushcraft course is for anyone who wants to broaden his or her skills and knowledge in this area.
This is not a hardcore course where you will suffer suffering and hardship. This course can be done for anyone with a normal fitness level.
